Brentford Riverside and Aits
Some work was undertaken at this site by the Thames Archaeological Survey, and during the late 19th and early 20th century, the Brentford area was investigated by antiquarians and archaeologists from the London Museum: Sir Mortimer Wheeler found Roman remains near the mouth of the River Brent. An assemblage of hulked vessels survives on the Brentford foreshore and on the ait, together with structures associated with boat building and repair.
